| For
the past 3 decades, Debbie Moffat has been an icon for the
entrepreneurial spirit as a business founder, executive, consultant,
and a community leader. Her success has been based on a personal
philosophy of people and community wellness.
Born in Kobe, Japan, Debbie graduated with a BA in Communications
and Human Development from the University of Pacific in Stockton,
California in 1980. Debbie started her career in radio before
moving to Israel to live and work on a kibbutz. In the late
1980s, Debbie was recruited to work for the Canadian Contingent
United Nations Middle East Comptroller. On her arrival to
Canada, in 1988, Debbie founded Keshet, a consulting company
focused on empowerment by improving management practices through
the effective deployment of IM/IT.
In 1995, Debbie co-founded EDUCOM TS Inc., were she served
as Managing Director. EDUCOM was established to provide its
private and public sector clients with consulting services
in the areas of information processing, integrated office
communications, application software development, and application
software customization. In recognition of her significant
contribution to the technology sector, Debbie was awarded
the Seagate Software’s “Partner of the Year” for outstanding
achievement in 1997.
In 2000, Debbie’s leadership and vision were paramount in
transforming EDUCOM from a professional services company to
a software technology company. In 2004, Debbie played a significant
role in EDUCOM’s sale and subsequent transition to ZANTAZ.
In the fall of 2004, Debbie Moffat created two sister Keshet
companies, Keshet Technologies Inc. and Keshet Productions
Inc. Keshet Technologies assists early stage technology companies
in gaining market penetration. Keshet Productions is focused
on developing films and television programs around women’s
and children’s issues.
Fluent in Hebrew, Japanese and English, Debbie has consulted
for prominent organizations world-wide, such as the Government
of Canada, US Federal Government, a number of State and Municipal
Governments, AMDOCS, BMW, Gateway, Lucent Technologies, Trane,
and Pepsico, just to name a few. Her consulting was primarily
focused on the development of executive and management compliance
and reporting systems.
In all of her leadership roles, Debbie has remained a strong
advocate for women’s and children’s issues. Debbie continues
to work on projects intended to promote and encourage women
and children to persevere in today’s dynamic and highly complex
business and social environment. |
